Your Logistics Is In Danger
1. Can They React Quickly In Emergencies?
I’ll give you a real-life example that happened to my team recently. Our customer requested a MEGA Tail Lift trailer for a shipment of wheelie bins. After the vehicle arrived, they missed the info that we also need to bring side straps due to the type of bins that are loaded. We then organised our transport manager to head for the yard and unlock it while we outsourced a van to start heading there as well to get the straps.
While the van was traveling to our lorry, they managed to load the bins and the driver secured the bins with the appropriate equipment once the van arrived. In the end, the job was done without any delays and our customer was aware of every stage of the process. Does your current hauler guarantee efficiency and reliability in emergencies?
2. Can They Add Services to Meet Your Needs?
In logistics unique enquiries are not something unusual. That’s why whoever is looking after the transport operations of a company should have a diverse network to be able to meet those special orders. I’m talking about double-man service, stand trailers, deliveries and pickups outside of business hours or during holidays, offering different types of vehicles, strapping the loads in certain ways or with special equipment, basically being able to satisfy every need of yours or your customer.
Can your current haulier do that for you? Even if it’s something rare, knowing that you have someone by your side who’s capable of sorting out an unordinary load gives you peace of mind and it makes your life easier.
3. Do They Offer Full Shipment Transparency and Tracking?
I imagine you value each one of your customers. Well, that means you want to provide the best service for them, which is not just selling them a quality product. That’s why perfect communication while your shipment is on the road is mandatory. You and your team should be notified how long until your product arrives at its destination, where it is currently, and have instant proof of delivery as soon as it has been received by your customer.
Many companies neglect that, but you must make sure the process is always followed correctly. How much easier would it be if the haulier did it for you, whether it be via email or a phone call? The best haulage companies will offer you one point of contact – knowing everything about your shipment is only one phone call away. Whatever you need to know, you ring a number and you’re never in the dark. That’s how easy it should be!
