To achieve this, we manage a large fleet of vans, lorries, and articulated lorries across the UK, and we actively offset the emissions generated through a range of carbon offset initiatives.
We have implemented various measures to reduce our emissions, including regular vehicle maintenance, fuel efficiency training for our drivers, and utilizing the latest eco-friendly technologies in our fleet. However, we recognize that some emissions are unavoidable in the transportation industry. To address this, we invest in verified carbon offset projects that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions elsewhere, effectively balancing the emissions produced by our vehicles.

What We’re Doing
Electric Fleet Transition
We’re actively exploring electric HGVs for urban and short-haul work, with plans to gradually transition our fleet over the next decade. We’ve already started conversations with suppliers and infrastructure partners to prepare for this shift.
HVO Fuel Trials
To reduce CO₂ emissions immediately, we’ve started testing HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) — a renewable diesel alternative — on selected routes. HVO can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%.
CO₂ Emissions Reporting
We now offer carbon emissions reports to clients. These reports are generated using our vehicle telematics and can be scheduled weekly, monthly or on demand — helping our customers meet their ESG and reporting requirements.
Reduced Empty Miles
Our traffic planning team works daily to reduce “empty return” trips. Using smart routing and backload planning, we’re cutting unnecessary mileage and emissions.
Eco Driver Training
All Viton drivers receive regular training on eco-driving techniques — including smooth acceleration, engine idling control, and fuel-efficient driving styles.
